Hi, I’m Sarah. I’m a 34 year old northern lass from Yorkshire, England. I’ve been knitting and making since I was a child and spend most of my free time with a pair of knitting needles in my hand – or my hair. I share my Little Edwardian House in Sheffield with my silversmith husband, and cute 7 year old rescue pug Etty.

Since 2007 I’ve run my own sustainable fabric printing business; Sarah Waterhouse, firstly part time but then full time since 2012.  Me and my husband also collaborate on Plain Jane Pugs, a collection of pug inspired jewellery.  We share a studio at Yorkshire Artspace in Sheffield City Centre.

I studied History of Art and Design at University (with Arts & Media Management minor) and my main interests are early 20th century fabric, ceramics and furniture design.

I’m currently studying part time for a BA (Hons) Textiles degree and am also an artist in resident at Sheffield Hallam University.
