After my mini feature on Mandy Pattullo’s work on display the Festival of Quilts I wanted to showcase other talented textile artists who use reclaimed fabrics in their work.

Barbara Wisnoski

Barbara Wisnoski is a Canadian textile artist who creates beautiful wall hangings using recycled fabrics and clothing.  I love the subtle painterly effect that is created using simple squares of fabrics.  Barbara’s choice of colour is very inspiring.

Caroll Bertin

Caroll Bertin is a French self taught textile artist who uses recycled textiles to create these fun and colourful textile sculptures and hangings.  Bertin uses a lot of knitted textiles such as jumpers in her work which give the pieces a useful knitted structure.

I’d love to hear about or from any other textile artists who feature recycled or sustainable textiles in their work, please let me know if you know of any by commenting on this post.
