I’m delighted to announce the Autumn programme of eco printing workshops, I’ve tried to include at least 2 sessions for each type to give more options. I’ve also included two special sessions, repeat designing and printing and Christmas stocking printing.

Schedule:

  • Saturday 5th October OR Saturday 9th November – Stencil fabric printing for lampshades 10-4pm £60
  • Saturday 12th and 26th October – Designing repeats for fabric 10-4pm both days, £110 for 2 sessions + screen exposure (to be paid for at first session £48+)
  • Saturday 19th October OR Saturday 30th November – Stencil fabric printing for use in the home 10-4pm £60
  • Saturday 9th December – Stencil printing you own Christmas stocking 10-4pm £65

All sessions have very limited places so please book early to avoid disappointment.  Refreshments will be provided but please bring a packed lunch. It’s best to wear old clothes and shoes as it can get a little messy. I’m afraid places are non-refundable if you decide you can’t make the session unless I can find someone to take your place.

Materials: You will be using eco friendly materials such as sustainable fabrics and organic inks to print.  Materials are included in the price of the sessions.

Location: Persistence Works, Yorkshire Artspace, Sheffield, S1 2BS

How to book: Email hello@sarahwaterhouse.co.uk or phone 07511 638110 (9-4pm). Debit and credit cards or cheques accepted.

Here are some further details about each of the sessions.

Stencil fabric printing for lampshades
This session is for a full day screen printing class at my studio in Sheffield. Come and learn how to screen print using stencil techniques and then use those newly acquired skills to print on to fabric. You will then learn how to make a 20cm table or ceiling lampshade using your own printed fabric.  You will take home your lampshade and several pieces of printed fabric.

Designing repeats for fabric
This is a two session lesson in designing and printing on fabric.  In the first session you will design one or two prints and learn how to turn them into repeat design.  At the end of the session your artwork will be ready to be made into a screen, screens will be prepared before the second session.  In the second session you will learn how to screen print and then will use your new design to print on to fabric.  Extra costs on top of the course fee are for exposing the screen, these will be charged at cost and will start from £48 per screen. Places on this course will be very limited.  Please note the costs involved don’t include screen manufacture and so screens will be image stripped after the last session.
