Knitting Up North

Printed Textiles, knitting and crafting

Who am I?

Hi, I’m Sarah. I’m a 29 year old knitting-printing-sewing-jewellery-making northern lass from Yorkshire. I’ve been knitting and making since I was a child and spend most of my free time with a pair of knitting needles in my hand – or my hair! I love anything crafty or cute and share my house with a huge collection of yarn, fabric, fashion and craft magazines and cute Japan fubbies.

I work part time in a library and the rest of the time I am busy fulfilling my dream to be a super craft queen by running my own textile printing business.  I am totally self taught apart from the few skills I managed to pick up whilst doing art at college, and I firmly believe that you don’t have to have studied art to be a creative whiz!

I’m also a founding member of Craft Candy, a group of Sheffield based makers promoting craft through workshops and craft fairs.

When I’m not printing, sewing or knitting I’m looking after my pet pugs Lola and Ruby or spending time with my hugely talented silversmith hubby.
